The noun \u201cmaat\u201d is translated as \u201ctruth\u201d so living by maat, meant living a pure and truthful life. The god Anubis \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udc62 would weigh the heart \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udd23 of the deceased against Maat\u2019s \ud80d\udc19\ud80c\udf34\ud80c\udca3\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc66 feather \ud80c\udd84 to see if they were worthy to enter the Underworld \ud80c\uddfc\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50 and meet Osiris \ud80c\udc79\ud80c\udea8\ud80c\udc2d.
