These were used in the construction of the Aten \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddf3 temple \ud80c\ude5f\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50 at Karnak (this construction started when he was still Amenhotep IV \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udeb5\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udefe\ud80c\udf00) and the palace \ud80c\udc9d\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude65\ud80c\ude50 at Akhetaten \ud80c\ude0c\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude96. This was meant to expedite construction and make building a lot faster. The Talatat are also unique because they were only used during the reign \ud80c\udefe\ud80c\ude0e\ud80c\udfcf of Akhenaten \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udd5e\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\ude16, and were never used again.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These Talatat at the Brooklyn Museum were once brightly painted in striking colors, as was most of the Egyptian monuments \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\udfcd. These specific blocks are from the palace \ud80c\udc9d\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude65\ud80c\ude50 at Akhetaten \ud80c\ude0c\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude96, which is where Tutankhamun \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\udefe\ud80c\ude7a\ud80c\uddd3 grew up! These blocks reconstruct a pastoral scene.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the Talatat were not found at Akhetaten \ud80c\ude0c\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude96; instead these blocks were reused by the pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b Rameses II \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude18\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udffa\ud80c\udd1f\ud80c\udef4\ud80c\uddd3 to build a pylon at Magna. The Talatat that are now seen in museums all over have been found in other places because the blocks were reused when other pharaohs \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b\ud80c\udfe5 took the throne. They were also reused by Horemheb \ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udca6\ud80c\udda3\ud80c\udffc\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udf49\ud80c\ude16. The famous Hypostyle Hall at Karnak (started by Seti I \ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udc63\ud80c\uddcc\ud80c\udf38\ud80c\ude16 and completed by Rameses II \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude18\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udffa\ud80c\udd1f\ud80c\udef4\ud80c\uddd3) is built with Talatat!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tens of thousands of Talata have been found across Egypt \ud80c\udd8e\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude96 and I&#8217;m sure that there are still many more to be found!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
