These precursor-ushabtis \ud80c\uddb7\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udf6f\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfee\ud80c\udc3e\ud80c\udfea were made of beeswax and beeswax was said to have magical \ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udc93\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udfdc powers of protection \ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udc9d\ud80c\udfa1\ud80c\udc1c, resurrection, and regeneration. The figures are somewhat detailed and were wrapped in a linen cloth \ud80c\udf71 and placed in the mini-coffin \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\uddb1. The coffin \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\uddb1 did not identify any role or jobs that the figure had (like the text on a ushabti \ud80c\uddb7\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udf6f\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfee\ud80c\udc3e could identify what it\u2019s job was), but it did identify the name \ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\ude16 of the deceased \ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udff1. Sometimes even the standard Offering Formula (\ud80c\uddd3\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udeb5\ud80c\udfd9 an offering the king gives) appeared on the mini-coffin \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\uddb1 as if it were a real one!  If these figures weren\u2019t workers, then what was their purpose? It is thought that this figure would take the place of the body should the body of the deceased \ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udff1 be destroyed.  These particular wax \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udff8\ud80c\udfe6 figures belonged to Queen Neferu, who lived during the 11th Dynasty (c. 2051\u20132030B.C.E) during the reign of Montuhotep II \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udf7f\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udeb5\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udeaa. Her tomb \ud80c\uddcb\ud80d\udc2b\ud80c\ude83\ud80c\ude50 had many of these wax \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udff8\ud80c\udfe6 figures, however in general, not many similar ones have been found (in comparison to the amount of ushabtis \ud80c\uddb7\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udf6f\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfee\ud80c\udc3e\ud80c\udfea that have been found)  Ushabtis \ud80c\uddb7\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udf6f\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfee\ud80c\udc3e\ud80c\udfea evolved into the little worker figures we know today during the 12th Dynasty, but became very popular during the New Kingdom.
