Since Cleopatra VII \ud80c\ude0e\ud80c\udced\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udf6f\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udca7\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udd87 was Greek and not native Egyptian, this cartouche \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude19\ud80c\udf77 of hers is very phonetic &#8211; most of the hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea used are uniliteral signs, which means that they correspond to a single sound, just like a letter in the alphabet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take a closer look!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\ude0e &#8211; The \u201csandy slope \ud80c\ude0e\u201d symbol is a uniliteral phonogram associated with the sound \u201cq.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udced &#8211; the \u201crecumbent lion \ud80c\udced\u201d was traditionally a biliteral phonogram for the sound \u201crw,\u201d however, during the Hellenistic Period it adopted the sound of \u201cL.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\uddcb &#8211; The \u201creed \ud80c\uddcb\u201d represents the sound of \u201c\u0131\u0357,\u201d however it can also function as an ideogram for the word \u201creed \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udffa.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udf6f &#8211; The \u201classo \ud80c\udf6f\u201d was traditionally a biliteral phonogram for \u201cw3\u201d (wah) but became evolved to adopt the sound of \u201co.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udeaa &#8211; The \u201cstool \ud80c\udeaa\u201d is a uniliteral phonogram for the sound \u201cp.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udd3f &#8211; The \u201cEgyptian Vulture \ud80c\udd3f\u201d represents the sound \u201c3\u201d which would be pronounced like \u201cah.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udca7 &#8211; The \u201chand \ud80c\udca7\u201d represents the sound \u201cd\u201d and is also the ideogram for the word \u201chand.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udc8b &#8211; The \u201cmouth \ud80c\udc8b\u201d symbol is used to represent the sound \u201cr.\u201d It can also be used as an ideogram for the word \u201cmouth \ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udffa.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udfcf &#8211; The \u201cflat loaf of bread \ud80c\udfcf\u201d is a uniliteral phonogram used to represent the sound \u201ct.\u201d It also functions as the ideogram for the word \u201cbread \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udffa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udd3f &#8211; see above!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udd87 &#8211; The \u201cegg \ud80c\udd87\u201d symbol is kind of used as a determinative here??
