This coffin is made of cartonnage, which is a material that is made when linen or papyrus mixed with plaster! The images \ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfea of the gods \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9 can almost be thought of as the picture-book version of the Book of the Dead \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udcbb\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\ude54\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udff2\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udffa\ud80c\udf7c\ud80c\udffa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the images \ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfea of the gods \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9 are so delicately drawn, the hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea going down the middle of the coffin \ud80c\udd71\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udc3e seem to be unfinished and roughly done. The hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea show the very standard offering formula!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\uddd3\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udeb5\ud80c\udfd9 &#8211; An Offering the King Gives&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udea9\ud80c\udc79 &#8211; Osiris<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udfc5 &#8211; Foremost&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udec0\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude0a &#8211; West<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inscription reads: \u201cAn Offering the King Gives Osiris, Foremost of the West.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Look forward to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/?p=2553\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Part \ud80c\udffb <\/a>about the back of this piece!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
