He co-ruled with Hatshepsut \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfb9\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd02\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc3c\ud80c\udfea for about 21 \ud80c\udf86\ud80c\udf86\ud80c\udffa years, and then he ruled on his own for another 30 \ud80c\udf86\ud80c\udf86\ud80c\udf86 years!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This alabaster \ud80c\udf71 vase \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcb was found in a foundation deposit. Both the Petrie Museum and the MET have very similar alabaster \ud80c\udf71 vases \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcb\ud80c\udfea with Hatshepsut\u2019s \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfb9\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd02\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc3c\ud80c\udfea name \ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\ude16 on them! I have done previous posts on the vases with Hatshepsut&#8217;s name \ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\ude16 &#8211; a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/?p=300\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">translation<\/a> and a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/?p=295\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">foundation deposits<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These vases\u00a0 \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcb\ud80c\udfea usually contained incense or ointment.\u00a0Sometimes, traces of the incense or ointment can still be seen within the vase \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcb which is so cool!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s break down the hieroglyphic \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03 symbols!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udd24 &#8211; Perfect God&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\udda3 &#8211; Menkhepperra<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udeca\ud80c\udebe &#8211; Min<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udfa4\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\ude96 &#8211; Koptos<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udf38 &#8211; Beloved<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All \ud80c\udf9f together \ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude97, the full translation is: \u201cThe Perfect God, Menkhepperra, Beloved of Min of Koptos.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Koptos \ud80c\udfa4\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\ude96 is the Greek name for the ancient Egyptian town of \u201cGbtyw \ud80c\udfa4\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\ude96,\u201d and the modern Arabic name for the town is Qift. Since the Early Dynastic period, Koptos \ud80c\udfa4\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\ude96 was an important place of worship \ud80c\uddfc\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udc22 for the god \ud80c\udeb9 Min \ud80c\udeca\ud80c\udebe, but it was also a key trading\/economic location due to its proximity to the Red Sea. Koptos \ud80c\udfa4\ud80c\udcc0\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\ude96 remained an important town through the Ptolemaic and Roman periods too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
