This cartouche is his throne name cartouche, which is the name \ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\ude16 Rameses II \ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udd0a\ud80c\udc67\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udf49\ud80c\ude16 took when he became the pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b of Egypt \ud80c\udd8e\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude96!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201c\ud80c\uddf3 sun disc\u201d symbol is an ideogram for \u201cra\u201d or \u201cre,\u201d but can also be a determinative in words such as sun, day, and time. The single symbol alone (like in cartouches) would be pronounced like \u201cra\u201d or \u201cre.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201chead and neck of jackal \ud80c\udd0a\u201d symbol is a triliteral phonogram for the sounds \u201cwsr\u201d which means \u201cpowerful\u201d or \u201cstrong.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
