While foundation deposits can be traced all the way back to the 3rd Dynasty, putting ointment jars in them date back to the 12th Dynasty. There are fourteen foundation deposits associated with Hatshepsut\u2019s \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfb9\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd02\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc3c\ud80c\udfea temple \ud80c\ude5f\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50! In Hatshepsut\u2019s \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfb9\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd02\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc3c\ud80c\udfea time, the temple was referred to as \ud80c\udca6\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udca6\ud80c\udfe5\ud80c\ude50 or the \u201cHoliest of Holies\u201d (or djeser-djeseru). There are many different hieroglyphic \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea variations of the word as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s read some hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udd24 &#8211; The Great Goddess<br>\ud80c\udf9f\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\uddff\ud80c\uddff &#8211; Lady of the Two Lands<br>\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udc66\ud80c\udc93 &#8211; Maatkare<br>\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\udf58 &#8211; May She Live!<br>\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16 &#8211; Amun<br>\ud80c\udd53 &#8211; In<br>\ud80c\udca6\ud80c\udca6\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\ude50 &#8211; Holiest of Holies<br>\ud80c\udf3a\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\uddcc &#8211; Beloved<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So all together, the inscription \ud80c\udfdf\ud80c\udfdb\ud80c\udfe5 reads: \u201cThe Great Goddess, Lady of the Two Lands, Maatkare, May She Live!
