The global fascination and love of ancient Egyptian art didn\u2019t start in modern times; in fact, the Romans were enamored with ancient Egypt \ud80c\udd8e\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude96 too! The figure on the left has blue skin and the sun\/horn headdress that is typical of the goddess \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udfcf Isis \ud80c\udea8\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc65 during this time period, while the seared figure on the right is wearing the nemes \ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udef4 head cloth which is typical dress for a pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The scene is definitely strange because a goddess \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udfcf would never be making an offering to a pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b &#8211; the pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b would always be making an offering to a god \ud80c\udeb9 or goddess \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udfcf! This scene was clearly meant to convey what the Roman\u2019s felt as an Egyptian atmosphere and it\u2019s interesting to see the Roman interpretation of Egyptian culture despite its inaccuracies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Fun Fact: Roman Emperors liked Egyptian art, and some (like Caligula \ud80c\udc48\ud80c\udefe\ud80c\udfe9\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udff2\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfbc\ud80c\udced\ud80c\udca7\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udc70 and Hadrian \ud80c\ude54\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udc9d\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude83\ud80c\ude0e\ud80c\ude83\ud80c\udc8b) had pieces from ancient Egypt \ud80c\udd8e\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude96 brought to Rome to adorn their gardens \ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\ude83\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\ude08\ud80c\udfe5 or estates.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
