This piece is named \u201cGod Horus Protecting King Nectanbo II.\u201d Nectanbo II \ud80c\udc5e\ud80c\udc69\ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udddb\ud80c\udd23\ud80c\udffa\ud80c\udf49\ud80c\ude16 was the last pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b of the short lived 30th Dynasty and he made himself the focus of a religious cult called \u201cNectanbo the Falcon,\u201d which was a merging of himself with the god \ud80c\udeb9 Horus \ud80c\udd43\ud80c\udc2d. Horus \ud80c\udd43\ud80c\udc2d was the god \ud80c\udeb9 of kingship!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s read some hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a small inscription at the base of the statue, and the inscription is a mirrored one – this means you start in the middle and read Middle to left or middle to right depending on the direction of the symbols! The \u201c\ud80c\udef9\u201d is the middle so that is where we are going to start!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interesting Interpretation of the Hieroglyphs:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s interesting about this inscription is that I can\u2019t tell if it\u2019s supposed to be \u201c\ud80c\udc79\ud80c\udea8\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\ude55\ud80c\udd68\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udf3b Osiris Mnevis\u201d or \u201cBeloved of Osiris Mnevis\u201d with \u201c\ud80c\udf3b\u201d being \u201cbeloved.\u201d To me it makes more sense if it is  \u201cBeloved of Osiris Mnevis,\u201d but I translated it both ways! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osiris Mnevis \ud80c\udc79\ud80c\udea8\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\ude55\ud80c\udd68\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udf3b is a combination of the gods Osiris \ud80c\udc79\ud80c\udea8\ud80c\udeb9 and Mnevis \ud80c\ude55\ud80c\udd68\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udf3b. Mnevis \ud80c\ude55\ud80c\udd68\ud80c\udc8b.  Mnevis \ud80c\ude55\ud80c\udd68\ud80c\udc8b was one of the Bull gods \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9 in ancient Egypt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
