This piece is known as an \u201cOvoid Stone\u201d or a \u201cHammering Stone\u201d and was probably used as a type of tool during building construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s read some hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea! I divided the inscription into two parts, and then translated each of the individual words so you can get a sense of the sentence structure used in the Middle\/New Egyptian language!! Here\u2019s the first row:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cStretching of the Cord\u201d was part of the foundation ritual that occurred when a building was constructed in ancient Egypt. \u201cHoliest of Holies\u201d is the name for Hatshepsut\u2019s temple at Deir el-Bahri. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
