The piece was found during the 1891-1892 excavations of Akhetaten \ud80c\ude0c\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude96 (present-day Amarna) by Flinders Petrie and Howard Carter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The bust was found in one of the sculptor\u2019s \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\ude16\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\udc00 workshops. The sculptor\u2019s \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\ude16\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\udc00 workshops in Akhetaten \ud80c\ude0c\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50\ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude96 have been the source of many beautiful \ud80c\udd24\ud80c\udd91\ud80c\udc8b pieces from this time period. I love the artifacts that are found in an unfinished state because it gives such insight into how these incredible ancient Egyptian artists worked and it shows that even the most grand of pieces started off in humble states! If this piece had been finished, would it have looked like the famous Bust of Nefertiti \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udd24\ud80c\udd24\ud80c\udd24\ud80c\udd24\ud80c\udd24\ud80c\uddcd\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed? Or was the piece just meant to be a trial piece and this was what it was supposed to look like?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">One of my favorite things about this account is I get to learn as I am teaching! I did not know the word for \u201csculptor \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\ude16\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\udc00\u201d off the top of my head so I looked it up! One of the alternative translations for \u201csculptor \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\ude16\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\udc00\u201c is \u201cLife Giver\u201d which I find so fascinating &#8211; it really gives insight into the Egyptian culture because the image \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf or statue \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc3e of a person could give \ud80c\udfd9 life \ud80c\udef9 to them after death!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Follow me to learn all about ancient Egypt, hieroglyphs, Egyptian mythology, art, culture and more!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
