The individual symbols do not lose their phonetic meaning when they become the composite hieroglyph \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03, instead they combine to just make a multi-consonant symbol! Composite hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea can be phonograms, ideograms, or determinatives too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">While a lot of the composite hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea are combinations of two \ud80c\udffb symbols, \u201c\ud80c\ude53\u201d is actually a combination of four \ud80c\udffd symbols! I like to think of composite hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea as a math equation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\ud80c\ude53 = \ud80c\ude50 + \ud80c\udea4 + \ud80c\udfd1 + \ud80c\udfca<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Here is the symbol name, (and sound value in parentheses) designated to each of the symbols that are part of \ud80c\ude53:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\ud80c\ude50 &#8211; House Plan (pr)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\ud80c\udea4 &#8211; Oar (\u1e2brw)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\ud80c\udfd1 &#8211; Bread (t)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\ud80c\udfca &#8211; Beer Jug (usually a determinative like in this case, but can be hnw on occasion)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\ud80c\ude53 would be pronounced like \u201cprt-\u1e2brw.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In terms of meaning, \u201c\ud80c\ude53\u201d is classified as an ideogram (a single symbol that takes on the meaning of a full word) for the phrase \u201cinvocation offering\u201d or \u201cvoice offering\u201d and is a part of the standard offering formula that is seen on stelae \ud80c\udf97\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udd93\ud80c\ude78\ud80c\udfea, false doors, sarcophagi \ud80c\udf9f\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\ude16\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\udead\ud80c\udfea\/coffins \ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udf9b\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\uddb1\ud80c\udfe6 and other funerary equipment \ud80c\ude0e\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Why are bread \ud80c\udfd1 and beer \ud80c\udfca highlighted in such a popular inscription that persisted for thousands of years? Bread \ud80c\udfd1 and beer \ud80c\udfca were pretty much the staples of the ancient Egyptian diet and they needed enough food \ud80c\uddec\ud80c\udc01\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfd4\ud80c\udfe5 in the Duat \ud80c\uddfc\ud80c\udd3f\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude50 too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
