These symbols are most like letters in modern alphabets because they are associated with one sound!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">A lot of the Old Kingdom pharaohs \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b\ud80c\udfe5 have birth names \ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfe6 written with uniliteral signs, which makes them great for beginners to read\/learn! One of the ways I started learning hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea was by practicing reading the cartouches \ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\ude19\ud80c\udf77\ud80c\udfe6 of the pharaohs \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b\ud80c\udfe5!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Here is a breakdown of the symbols:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The \u201cstool \ud80c\udeaa\u201d symbol is a uniliteral phonogram for the sound \u201cp.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The \u201creed \ud80c\uddcb\u201d symbol is a uniliteral phonogram and most commonly represents the sound of \u201c\u0131\u0357,\u201d however it can also function as an ideogram for the word \u201creed \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udffa.\u201d It is usually associated with modern English \u201cI\u201d or \u201cY\u201d sounds.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This is my personal photograph and original text.
