Inlays are part of what archaeologists call \u201ccomposite statues,\u201d or statues \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e\ud80c\udfe6 that are composed of many different parts that would come together to form a single statue \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e! The part that would be the crown, and the stone \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udeaa that was supposed to go in the hole that represents the eye \ud80c\udc79\ud80c\udfe4 are both missing. Either the statue \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e was never finished or both were lost in antiquity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"580\" height=\"580\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776-1024x1024.jpg?resize=580%2C580&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776.jpg?resize=1024%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776.jpg?resize=768%2C768&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776.jpg?resize=1200%2C1200&amp;ssl=1 1200w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/275621812_132342822673973_6178522312919873467_n_17904567017399776.jpg?w=1440&amp;ssl=1 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to the inlay of Akhenaten \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udd5c\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\ude16, there is another quartzite composite statue but it is a head \ud80c\udc76\ud80c\udfe4 of possibly Smenkare \ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udef4\ud80c\udf4a\ud80c\udc93\ud80c\udca6\ud80c\udda3\ud80c\udfea, the mystery pharaoh \ud80c\ude50\ud80c\ude7b that ruled \ud80c\udefe for a short period of time in between Akhenaten \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udd5c\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\ude16 and Tutankhamun \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfe0\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udef9\ud80c\udefe\ud80c\ude7a\ud80c\uddd3. The statue \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e is in very bad condition, so it is really difficult to gather much information about it. However, at the time the statue \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e was made, it was made with high quality workmanship!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The style during Akhenaten\u2019s \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\uddf3\ud80c\udd5c\ud80d\udc0d\ud80c\ude16 rule \ud80c\udefe was very different than the traditional Egyptian art styles, which makes these pieces so weird and wonderful in their own way!
