No matter who was wearing it, amulets \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46\ud80c\udfea had the same function: to invoke magical protection \ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udc9d\ud80c\udfa1\ud80c\udc1c for the wearer! As the Egyptian civilization and their religious beliefs evolved, amulets \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46\ud80c\udfea started to represent gods \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9 and goddesses \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udfcf, everyday objects, hieroglyphs \ud80c\udeb9\ud80c\udf03\ud80c\udfea, plants \ud80c\uddbe\ud80c\uddb0\ud80c\uddb0\ud80c\uddb0, and many other things!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Egyptians \ud80c\udd8e\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udc00\ud80c\udc50\ud80c\udfea believed that the type of magic that an amulet \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46 possessed was based off of its shape! For example, an amulet \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46 could invoke the power of a god \ud80c\udeb9 that it was representative of! You can see the Eye of Horus \ud80c\udc80 amulet \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46 in the picture \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf, and that was used for protection \ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udc9d\ud80c\udfa1\ud80c\udc1c by both the living and the dead \ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udff1!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I do not know the date of the amulets \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46\ud80c\udfea in the picture \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf, and I actually couldn\u2019t find this piece in Petrie\u2019s online catalogue when I went to look it up! I love amulets \ud80c\ude90\ud80c\udeaa\ud80c\udd46\ud80c\udfea and I find this necklace to be very charming!
