{"id":667,"date":"2022-06-25T16:38:40","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T16:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ancientegyptblog.com\/?p=667"},"modified":"2022-06-25T16:42:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T16:42:54","slug":"bronze-statues-of-deities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ancientegyptblog.com\/?p=667","title":{"rendered":"Bronze Statues of Deities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There\u2019s a lot that I love about this picture \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf &#8211; 1) obviously I love the bronze \ud80c\ude14\ud80c\udfe4\ud80c\ude12\ud80c\udfe6 statues \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e\ud80c\udfea, 2) it\u2019s in the Petrie Museum, and 3) which I think is the best part &#8211; you can see me and Nonno\u2019s reflections in the mirror! We are squished together both trying to take pictures \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfe6 of all the artifacts! We spent a big part of that day like that and I wish I could go back and re-live that day \ud80c\ude54\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udffa\ud80c\uddf3 again. So while this is not the best picture \ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udd71\ud80c\udfcf artistically speaking, it really means a lot to me. Due to war and trade, bronze \ud80c\ude14\ud80c\udfe4\ud80c\ude12\ud80c\udfe6 was able to come to Egypt \ud80c\udd8e\ud80c\udd53\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\ude96 around 700 B.C.E. and replace the traditional stone \ud80c\uddcb\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udc8b\ud80c\udeaa and clay statues \ud80c\udd1a\ud80c\ude16\ud80c\udfcf\ud80c\udfed\ud80c\udc3e\ud80c\udfea. The bronze \ud80c\ude14\ud80c\udfe4\ud80c\ude12\ud80c\udfe6 pieces are great antiquities because they can preserve small details over long periods of time.
