While Harry, Ron, and Hermione are most definitely my favorite trio of all time, the Memphis Triad comes pretty close!! In ancient Egypt ๐๐ ๐๐, groups of three ๐ผ gods ๐น๐น๐น are referred to as โtriadsโ by Egyptologists! Triads were groups of gods ๐น๐น๐น that usually had some type of familial significance to each other. Father ๐๐๐-Mother ๐ฟ๐๐-Child ๐๐๐ triads and family ๐ ๐๐ ฑ๐๐๐๐ฆ units were extremely important to Egyptian culture!

The triads were usually made into a single statue ๐๐ ฑ๐๐พ, however, at the MET they have displayed these three ๐ผ statues ๐๐ ฑ๐๐พ๐ช together to form a triad which I think is so cool! This triad is known as the Memphis Triad, which consisted of Ptah ๐ช๐๐๐ญ (left), Sekhmet ๐๐๐ ๐๐ (middle) and Imhotep ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ช (right).
The Memphis Triad could also be Ptah ๐ช๐๐๐ฑ, Sekhmet ๐๐๐ ๐๐, and Nefertem ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐ฏ. Nefertem ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐ฏ was the son ๐ ญ of Ptah ๐ช๐๐๐ฑ and Sekhmet ๐๐๐ ๐๐ in mythology. However, during the Ptolemaic times (which is when these bronze ๐๐ค๐๐ฆ statues ๐๐ ฑ๐๐พ๐ช are dated to), Imhotep ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ช was widely worshipped ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ข as a god ๐น, and he kind of replaced Nefertem ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐ฏ in the triad! Since Imhotep ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ช was regarded by the Greeks as the Son ๐ ญ of Ptah ๐ช๐๐๐ฑ, this unofficially made Sekhmet ๐๐๐ ๐๐ his mother ๐ ๐๐!
Imhotep ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ช, meaning โHe who comes in peace,โ was a non-royal man who became deified. Imhotep ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ช was not deified in his lifetime – it was 2,000 ๐ผ๐ผ years after his death that he began to be worshipped ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ข as a god ๐น by the Greeks.
